This is a photo-collage of a toy axe placed in very slightly different positions. It was macro photographed which changed the scale of the object and emphasised monumentality. It seemed significant at the time, a play on scale, singularity, repetition and difference. It appears like a shield or badge to me now. A barrier or a block.
