Like doodling/scribbling, writing or forming words was my first way back in to making work after a number of years.
The initial writing was automatic, free, not even necessarily words, just garble, fragments, scrawl, drawn sentences.
I have heard it called – ‘Word Salad’.
These word works cross over from drawing to digital and painting. I haven’t quite made them 3D yet but it was the intention to have free-standing or floating word pieces within a space.
Limitations of time, money, space, ability, imagination, commitment and the like caused issues.
